This may be the most entertaining event of the season! An evening of dance, music, delight and cheers, as ten Tampa Bay personalities dance their hearts out to help a very deserving charity. You will see ten amateurs partnered with fabulous professional ballroom dancers, competing for your applause.
Sounds like a great idea for a television show, doesn’t it?
Our cast members are donating their time and talents for this two-hour extravaganza to raise money for The Spring of Tampa Bay. The Spring is a remarkable haven that provides sanctuary and support services for thousands of women and children who are victims of violence.
Just like the hit ABC television show, our ten performers do not dance for a living. However, they are training rigorously, working with professional instructors so they can bring their best steps to the stage of Carol Morsani hall. You get to judge who’s the greatest!
Can former Ms. Florida Angela Rasmussen win your heart with a foxtrot? Will Susan Touchton past Junior League President impress you with her samba? Who will win the Battle of no dance experience, Aakash Patel in Public Relations or Fran Curci former college football coach? Will ABC Action News own John Thomas be ready to dance a Paso Doble on TV? Simon Canasi of Smith Barney says he is a natural Cuban dancer, but can he waltz? Judy Lisi has been on stage most of her life, but has she ever tried a mambo? George Tinsley is a 6’5” former ABA player. Let’s see how he handles a sexy rumba. What will Allison Beard Luzier, and Stephanie Agliano of Tampa Electric chose to dance? We hope you will all be there to find out these answers, and be a part of this fun, funny, yet glamorous evening.
Vote for your favorites at intermission and then enjoy a spectacular exhibition of ballroom dancing when the professionals take the stage to display their award-winning form. Join us with our announcer Chad Brock, singer, song writer, D.J. for WQYK 99.5FM, along with our two very entertaining Honorary Chairs – Brendan McLaughlin from ABC News and Victoria Regan Broadway performer, singer and international ballroom dance champion – for a grand evening.
